Who we are
Subscriptio ("the app", "we") is a Shopify application that lets merchants sell products on a recurring basis. It is installed by merchants into their Shopify store; shoppers interact with it through the merchant's storefront and customer account pages.
Information we collect
When a merchant installs Subscriptio, we store:
- Store information — the store domain, name, contact email, currency, and the app settings the merchant configures.
- Subscription data — subscription contracts created through Shopify checkout, including the products, prices, delivery schedule, and status of each subscription.
- Customer data — for subscribers only: name, email address, and delivery address, as provided through Shopify; plus a card summary (brand, last four digits, expiry month/year) used to warn merchants about expiring cards. We never receive or store full payment card numbers — payments are processed entirely by Shopify.
- Billing history — the outcome of each recurring charge attempt (success, failure, amount) to power retries, receipts, and merchant analytics.
How we use it
- Scheduling and executing recurring billing through Shopify.
- Sending transactional email to subscribers on the merchant's behalf (upcoming-charge reminders, payment failure and recovery notices, subscription status changes).
- Showing merchants their subscription business (dashboards, analytics, customer lists) and letting subscribers self-manage their subscriptions.
We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the service providers below.
Where it lives
Data is stored in Amazon Web Services (US East), encrypted at rest and in transit. Email is delivered through Amazon SES. Shopify remains the system of record for orders, payments, and customer accounts.
Data retention & deletion
We implement Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks: when a customer requests erasure (customers/redact) or a merchant uninstalls and the store is redacted (shop/redact), the corresponding data is deleted from our systems. Merchants may also request deletion at any time via the contact below.
